Ukrainian Agrarian Fund Starts Purchasing Grain of New Harvest
OREANDA-NEWS. On July 02, 2008 Ukraine's Agrarian Fund has started purchasing grain of new harvest at the agrarian exchange to form a state food reserve, according to a statement released by the fund.
Fund Deputy Director General Serhiy Rykal said that in accordance with a government order, grain is purchased at the earlier set minimal prices, particularly third-class wheat is bought at UAH 1,251 per ton (USD 1 / UAH 4,85).
In 2008, the Agrarian Fund should purchase grain in the volume of 14% of its total consumption that will amount to 881,000 tons.
