OREANDA-NEWS. July 4, 2008. Rostekhnadzor’s resolution will be valid for five years.

The first concrete in the foundation plate of the reactor compartment of the 1st unit of Novovoronezh NPPlant-2 was cast on June 24.

This marked the beginning of the principal stage of the construction of NovNPP-2, a project envisaged by the federal target program for the development of the nuclear power industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015.

The general contractor of the project is Atomenergoproekt. As of today, the company has built the concrete mats of the reactor and auxiliary buildings, has waterproofed the buildings, has mounted lightning arresters and strain gauges, is laying the foundations of the machine compartment and the reserve diesel power plants.

In Jan-May 2008 Atomenergoproekt spent over 1bln RUR. Over 900 people and 250 vehicles are involved in the project for the moment.
