OREANDA-NEWS. On July 03, 2008 The chairman of Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergey Stepashin prized the production process and the social policy of Oskol electrometallurgical plant, reported the press-centre of Metalloinvest.

“I saw the most effective and competitive mill. The government should support such enterprises”, he mentioned during his visit to OEMK. 

The delegation visited the arc-furnace plant and the rolling mill-350, the control point of the furnace and the finished product storage. The main auditor of Russia was accompanied by the governor of Belgorod region Evgeny Savchenko and the head of Stary Oskol urban district Pavel Shishkin.

Sergey Stepashin asked several questions concerning steelmaking process and shared his impressions. “Here we observe the best example of cooperation between government and business when the authorities assist the enterprise in making money and business supports the government as a responsible taxpayer”, considers S.Stepashin.

In his opinion lots of social project were put into life owing to OEMK’s support and its taxes paid to Stary Oskol and Belgorod region. “I could see here with my own eyes an outstanding model of the mutually beneficial collaboration between the government and the business as an excellent example for others to follow”, concluded the chairman of the Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation.
