OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2008. An issue of the Ukrainian gas debt to JSC Gazprom for previous years is subject to settlement by all parties to the debt, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told journalists.

"There are no current gas debts," the minister specified. There is a question regarding mutual relationship with JSC Gazprom in 2007 and in early 2008 between RosUkrEnergo and UkrGazEnergo. The issues are subject to settlement, and the Ukrainian party is ready to clarify why all debts were not paid, he stressed.

According to Prodan, as referred to the direct contracts concluded, so there is no problem with Gazprom, as "there are direct payments".

On March 12, 2008, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and JSC Gazprom signed the Agreement on Relations Development in Gas Area. In accordance with the instrument, from March to December, Ukraine will be supplied with Central Asia gas to the extent of no less than 49,8 billion cu. m. at USD 179,5 per 1,000 cu. m. of gas.
