OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 July 2008 was announced, that Sheremetyevo International Airport held a tender among insurers to select the insurer of the corporate car fleet. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was announced the winning bidder. The purpose of the tender was to secure efficient insurance to comply with the stringent international requirements and Sheremetyevo’s long-term insurance strategy.

The new insurance contract with Ingosstrakh provides the airport with compulsory motor vehicle civil liability coverage for 539 vehicles, voluntary liability insurance arrangements cover 721 vehicles and 291 vehicles are covered with hull insurance. Insurance covers all types of airfield vehicles, including lorries, heavy haulers, mechanical loaders, cleansing vehicles, fire engines, passenger cars and traveling gangways. The total amount insured under hull insurance (theft and damage) is RUR 535.6mlnm, whereas the amount insured under voluntary liability insurance is RUR901.2mln.

The total number of bidders in the tender was six. The tender was arranged by the Russian division of AON Corporation (LLC Aon Rus – Insurance Brokers) which consults Seremetyevo on enterprise risk management.

In addition to conventional services, the new contract provides the airport with an opportunity to chose the form of insurance indemnity (repair of a damaged vehicle through an authorized service center, repair through a service center selected by the insurant, or cash compensation) and is eligible to insurance indemnification net of amortization of vehicle parts and components on the basis of ‘new for old’ principle.

Ingosstrakh also offers to Sheremetyevo a package of additional related services, including site surveys by the insurer’s representatives, designation of a dedicated coordinator for contracts and management of claims.

Ingosstrakh has been the insurer of Sheremetyevo car fleet since 2005.
