OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 July 2008 was announced, that on July 01 British Airways celebrated the 5th anniversary of operating its Moscow to London flights from Domodedovo, the largest and most modern airport in Russia.

Andrew Hammans, British Airways Regional Commercial Manager Northeast Europe, said, "The airport team delivers efficient, friendly service and they are so receptive to change and innovation - these are the major factors of our common success".

"Our customers definitely like the airport that has made their travel hassle-free with the much improved customer service", - Mr. Hammans added.

British Airways has been flying to Russia for almost 50 years; to move its Moscow operations to Domodedovo was aimed at providing passengers with better customer service, maximum levels of security and comfort, speedy and easy arrival and departure facilities, as well as a high class infrastructure, with fluent transfer services and easy connection with the center of Moscow.

The move made British Airways the first airline in Russia and CIS countries to introduce Self-Service Check-in Kiosks where passengers can check in for their flight, choose a seat and print out their boarding passes within less than a minute. The facilities and services for British Airways passengers also include the use of a dedicated check-in island.

From July 01, 2005 all British Airways passengers are able to print their boarding passes at home or in the office before coming to the airport, as they can now check-in via internet on ba web site, which significantly simplifies all the airport formalities.

After check-in, passengers pass through a service area with restaurants, cafes and shops, and also a panoramic view of the apron and runways.

Another additional benefit our passengers have is the 320 sq.m. British Airways Club Europe/Executive Club Lounge at Domodedovo. For some travelers this lounge provides a place where they can relax after a busy working day, for others it provides a facility for organizing business meetings, with telephone, fax and photocopying services available, along with e-mail and internet access.

Transfers between BA flights and other airlines operating domestic as well East European and Central Asian international destinations are easy because all operations are within a single terminal building, which often allows an airside change of aircraft without leaving the transit area.

"We are constantly following the market demands and try to be receptive to our passengers' needs. We will be further improving our products to maintain the high quality that we offer and to support our image of a reliable and professional partner. In my opinion, the Russian traveler is a very sophisticated one who values good service, punctuality, a convenient timetable and quick procedures on the ground", - comments Andrew Hammans.

"We can say with confidence that our cooperation has been successful and fruitful. Since commencing their services to Domodedovo airport, British Airways managed to increase the number of flights to Moscow, and the passenger traffic on this route upped over 2.5 times. Joint efforts towards improving the passengers service quality and increasing service technology efficiency enabled us to produced substantial results", - says Mr Sergey Rudakov, Director of Airport Complex Domodedovo.

At present British Airways operates 20 flights per week between Moscow and London and daiy flights to and from St.Petersburgh.
