OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 July 2008 was announced, that the most significant actions of 2008 are works on connection of the Gagarinsky Plywood Plant to the networks of IDGC of Centre in the Smolensk area which is one of the largest investment projects in the area, and connection of the Federal Center Of Traumatology, Orthopedy And Endoprosthesis which is planned to be opened in Smolensk in December of this year according to the presidential program of medical aid quality improvement for Russian citizens.

For the given period, the branch of IDGC of Centre "Smolenskenergo" - performed reconstruction of 110 kV substations: "Roslavl", "Monastyrshchina", "Pochinok". "Gagarin", "Tumanovo" (Vyazma area), "Temkino", "Glinka", "Kanyutino" (Homl-Zhirovsky region), "Yartsevo-2", "Chernushki" (Smolensk area), "Krasny", "Demidov", "Diffuzion", "Kardymovo", "Electromachiny" (Safonovo city), "Izdeshkovo" (Safonovo area).

Works are performed by the company with application of high technologies: repair works consist in replacement of substations of obsolete oil-circuit switches by modern vacuum ones), and construction and reconstruction of electric systems consist in application of self-bearing isolated wire (SBIW).

Practically in each city and region of the Smolensk area, the company holds construction of new and reconstruction of the existing centers of the distributive network power supply, the purpose of which is increase of reliability of power supply both for the population, and objects of housing and communal services and social sphere (RP “Diagnostic Center” in Smolensk, new 6 kV high-voltage line to the clearing constructions of Golynki settlement of the Rudnyansky area,  new line for reservation of feed of the Central Regional Hospital in Safronov, etc.)

In total, powermen of the Smolensk area, under the investment program, plan to assign over 747.69 million rubles in 2008.
