OREANDA-NEWS. On June 30, 2008 following the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani talks Presidents Victor Yushchenko and Ilham Aliyev held a joint press conference, reported the Official website www.president.gov.ua. 

At the event they informed the media that during the talks Ukrainian and Azerbaijani sides discussed in detail transporting Caspian oil through Odesa-Brody pipeline. As the result of discussion the sides agreed that the pipeline would be filled with technical oil in the nearest future with the purpose of testing it.

“In the nearest future we will begin trial oil pumping to test the project in practice”, - said Ilham Aliyev.

President Yushchenko, from his part stressed: “Both sides … are moving within the framework of agreements which had been reached earlier during previous meetings”. He also added that on states’ level there are no problems in that field.
