ACSA Assits FAO to Implement Projects in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2008. The National Agency for Rural Development (ACSA) is assisting the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in implementing the Project “Assistance to restore winter wheat crop production and strengthen capacities to cope with the effects of adverse climatic events” FAO-TCP-MOL-3102 (E) in Moldova, reported the press-centre of ACSA.
The project, approved to address the impact of the adverse climatic events in 2005/2006, suffered significantly in its implementation from the impact of the 2007 drought in Moldova. It was therefore extended to allow for an additional agricultural season and thereby the planned outputs.
In 2008, ACSA is responsible to organize 3 Regional TOT training workshops in the field of Disaster Risk Management (for representatives of Razon Agricultural Departments, Department of Exceptional Situations, State Commission for Crop Varieties Testing and Registration, ACSA regional advisors), an awareness raising event in each rayon for agricultural producers and a dedicated training program for its local advisors.
