OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2008. The “O’zkimyosanoat” State Stock Company intends to set up in cooperation with UAE investors the production of 34 thousand tons of caustic and 50 thousand tons of polyvinylchloride a year by manufacturing acetylene in “Navoiazot” Open Stock Company, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz.

During his visit to Abu Dhabi in March this year President Islam Karimov initiated a new production in Uzbekistan’s biggest chemical company. The project worth USD 160 million entered the list of priority aspects of cooperation with UAE investors.

We should mention that the “O’zkimyosanoat” plans to launch cooperatively with UAE investors the production of ammonia and carbamide worth USD 600 million in “Navoiazot”. The new nitric complex which is to be constructed within five years will have an annual capacity of around 550 thousand tons of ammonia and 450 thousand tons of carbamide (nitric fertilizer known as urea).

The development of technical documentation, basic projecting and preliminary delivery of equipment are to end by 2008. Experts estimate that under conditions of stable price for natural gas the efficiency of ammonia and carbamide production reached hundred-percent rate in the beginning of the 21st century. Today price for natural gas is growing as well as world prices for ammonia and fertilizers.
