Ukrainian State Meteorological Service to Buy Two Radars in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2008. The State Meteorological Service will buy two radars worth EUR 3 million in 2009, Service Chairman Viacheslav Lypynsky said.
He said that in 2009-2014, the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry would allocate UAH 400 million (USD 1/UAH 4.85) to purchase new technologies and reconstruct outdated equipment.
Moreover, Lypynsky said that ten radars worth EUR 15 million would be purchased over this period.
Ukraine has no similar radars. Only several countries, particularly Germany, produce them.
