Russian Prime Minister Putin Praised Deutsche Bank
OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 June 2008 was announced, that Deutsche Bank is a financial bridge between the Russian and German economies, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Friday during his working meeting with Dr. Josef Ackermann, Chairman of The Management Board, Deutsche Bank AG.
“Deutsche Bank is one of the leading financial structures in the world,” Putin said, adding, “The bank opened its business in St. Petersburg in 1881. At present, it efficiently operates in Russia.”
According to the prime minister, “last year, Deutsche Bank implemented more than ten IPO deals with a total worth over 16 billion U.S. dollars, thus helping Russian companies to enter the world market.”
“Besides, the bank’s transactions on the consulting and merging market amounted to 22 billion U.S. dollars in 2007,” Putin said, adding, “This was good work.”
“The fact that Deutsche Bank is a bridge between the Russian and German economies is of particular importance,” Putin said.
According to Dr. Ackermann, more than 1,000 bank’s employees work in Russia. “Mainly, these are Russian geniuses,” he stressed.
