OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 June 2008 was announced, that on the basis of the training ground of the Rostov industrial branch of Yarenergo branch of IDGC of Centre, JSC, the solemn opening of the competitions of professional skills of 11 branches of IDGC of Centre took place.

The following persons took part in the opening ceremony: Deputy General Director for the Technical Policy of IDGC of Centre Sergey Shumakher, Acting Director of the Department for Fuel, Power and Tariffs Regulation of the Yaroslavl area Alexander Minkin, Deputy General Director of Yarenergo branch of IDGC of Centre Igor Solonikov, Director for Operation and Repairs of IDGC of Centre Dmitry Pankov.

The main purposes of the given competitions are estimation of the professional standard of the personnel of the electric networks which carry out servicing of SB 35Ї110 kV of RPA; improvement of quality and safety of the works which are performed at operation of electric networks; exchange of experience in the organization and performance of works on repair and maintenance service in the electric networks.

IDGC of Centre is a large company which has a lot of tasks in view, one of which is qualitative and reliable electricity supply of our clients. Therefore, increase of reliability, introduction of the new equipment is the task of technical direction in our company. These competitions are the first in many respects: they are the first competitions held in IDGC as a new company; they are the first among such a large amount of teams, they are the first in the technical orientation. Profession of the relay and substation engineer is the main profession which provides functioning of the network facilities. We suppose that the participants will show high results and skills in equipment handling,' Sergey Shumakher said in his address to participants and visitors of the action.

Upon termination of the official part, the teams were invited to pass stages of the competitions. The sequence of passing the stages was defined in the afternoon earlier, on 23 June, by random draw.

Let us remind that the teams should pass 10 main stages. Within the limits of the competitions, the participants will show knowledge of effective standards and rules, instructions on labour safety and safety precautions. Besides, various stages of the competitions include not only check of theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills. Among them are replacement of one column of a rod insulator of a line isolating switch, performance of average-scale repairs of a switch, first aid to the  victim suffered from electric current, fire extinguishing in a cubicle.

The competitions will be held on the basis of the individual approach; thus, "the best in the profession" will be defined: "Best engineer of RPA service", "Best electrician for RPA equipment repairs", "Best master of the industrial site", "Best electrician for repairs of the industrial site equipment". Following the results of questioning brigades, the best judge of the competitions will be also defined.
