Employees of Mayak Received Government Awards
OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2008. The staff of Mayak Production Association celebrated the 60th birthday of the plant.
During an official celebration in the residence of the governor of Chelyabinsk region on June 20, the representative of the President of Russia to Ural Federal District Pyotr Latyshev presented a big group of employees of Mayak with government awards and titles.
Head of department of Plant 20 Yuri Alekseyev, engineer of Plant 235 Yuri Arkhipov and head of department of Plant 235 Albert Kurochkin were granted the Medal of Honor.
The chief engineer of Plant 40 Vladimir Baranov, the chief mechanic of Mayak Sergey Berezovky, engineer of Plant 23 Rudolf Klestov, engineer of Plant 20 Arkady Kulakov, the head of the technical group of Plant 45 Nikolay Markov, fitter of plant 156 Valery Pizhov, cook Ludmila Sidorkova, deputy head of department of Plant 22 Yevgeny Strukov were presented with the Order for Services to Fatherland.
Director of Machinery and Repair Plant Stanislav Gordeyev was granted the title of Honored Machine Builder of Russia, driver Viktor Bannykh – the title of Honored Transport Worker of Russia, head of laboratory Anatoly Bobylev – the title of “Honored Chemist of Russia.”
The main award, the letter of gratitude of the President of Russia, was conveyed to the director of Mayak Sergey Baranov. In this letter the President expressed his gratitude for Mayak’s great contribution to the development of Russia’s nuclear power industry.
On behalf of the President, Latyshev thanked the whole staff of the plant and said that the awards were a worthy reward for their outstanding efforts for the benefit of Russia.
“Today, Mayak is experiencing certain problems but we see that you are moving steadily forward. Our government has extended its hand to the nuclear sector and I hope that your outstanding efforts will work out and our country will become even wealthier,” Latyshev said.
