OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 June 2008 was announced, that the increase in capacity of Novo-Ziminskaya TPS will cost around 15 billion rubles for Irkutskenergo. This was reported by General Director of Irkutskenergo Company Andrey Konovalov at the General Shareholders Meeting of the enterprise today. He explained that expansion of the thermal power main of Novo-Ziminskaya Thermal Power Station as the youngest and perspective station in the structure of Irkutskenergo will be probably started in 2008. This will become the first increase in capacity of the power supply system since the Soviet times. Besides, the results of the last year were reported: more than 55 million watt of the electric power were supplied to consumers, the net profit of the enterprise exceeded 1.5 billion rubles. According to Andrey Konovalov, the plans of Irkutskenergo till 2012 include construction of the new thermal power station conditionally named Taishet station with capacity of up to 990 megawatt.

Andrey Konovalov, General Director of Irkutskenergo, 'We consider this project to be very serious. We absolutely adequately estimate risk we are going to run. The matter is that not only Irkutskenergo, but also many other enterprises of Russia, for today have no experience in construction, a serious experience in construction of thermal generation facilities. And probably our company will be one of the first companies to cope with this task. We consider that we will get through this issue.
