Sakhalin Energy Wins Gold Medal Award
OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2008. Sakhalin Energy received a high appraisal from an international business association for its contribution to enhancing Russia’s competitiveness. The Company was awarded a “Gold Medal” by the Eurasian Economic Community for “high performance in business”.
The award was presented at the 10th International Forum of the Eurasian Economic Community (EURASEC), which was held on 19th June in Moscow. The forum ‘High Quality in Business Practice,’ was attended by representatives of companies from former Soviet Union countries, and experts from the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Science.
Sakhalin Energy’s commercial director Victor Snegir said that the Sakhalin II integrated oil and gas project had opened the door to the wealth of the Russian sea shelf. “The Sakhalin II Project and projects that will follow, will make their mark as Russia develops into a global energy power.”
The Gold Medal award confirms the high standards of Sakhalin Energy’s project activities, which include environmental protection, social responsibility and business transparency.
The Eurasian Economic Community, (EURASEC), is an international economic organisation consisting of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The EURASEC is entitled to secure external customs frontiers with the countries-participants of the Community.
