OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2008. The Bank of Moscow and Tennis Federation of Russia (RTF) signed a cooperation agreement, under which the Bank has become the Federation’s partner in all events timed to 100th anniversary of the RTF.

Shamil Tarpishchev, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation, said at the agreement signing ceremony: "the Bank of Moscow is our long-term partner. I am glad that our 10 years long successful cooperation contributes to tennis popularization and development in Russia. I hope that our relations will develop in the future to become even ber".

In honor of its 100th anniversary, the Russian Tennis Federation has been handed out awards to the highest award of a commemorative medal of A. McPherson, was presented to the Bank of Moscow.

In June 2008, the Russian Tennis Federation turned 100 years. Let’s point that the first All-Russian Sports Union of Lawn Tennis Clubs (ARSULTC was established on June 3rd 1908). The Russian Tennis Federation has become a successor of that organization. Arthur Davidovich McPherson (1870-1919), a famous figure of Russian sports, was the founder of ARSULTC.

Support of sports is one of the key directions in social policy of the Bank of Moscow. Traditionally, the Bank of Moscow is known to be a sponsor of the Cup of Kremlin — the first professional indoor court tournament uniting men’s and women’s sports event. The Kremlin Cup Women tournament (Tier I) is included in the top ten largest Sony Ericsson WTA Tour tournaments, and the men tournament falls into prestigious International Series АТР.
