OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 June 2008 was announced, that Allіanz Ins. Co. underwriter Igor Zaporozhets took part in the round table organized by “Baltika 0 Alcohol-free” ТМ in the framework of a pan Ukrainian program “I am for road culture”.

In the framework of the round table, Igor Zaporozhets spoke on attitude of insurance companies to traffic violation and on the practice of road culture implementation applied by Allіanz in Ukraine and in the world. Statistics on the number of road traffic accidents in Kyiv was introduced and the main reasons causing increase of accidents on Ukrainian roads were stated. The Insurer named overspeed, traffic violation (in particular crossing rules), and drunken driving as main reasons causing heavy increase of road traffic accidents.

“Low road culture is not only a problem of the round table participants, but of the entire society. In Allianz, we daily deal with road traffic accident consequences and we know about them firsthand. Our company conducts numerous investigations all over the world for the purpose of improving safety technologies and increasing safety standards. Allianz Technology Center (AZT) founded over 70 years ago in Germany is successfully working at reduction of accidents and losses in the time of road traffic accidents weekly conducting at least one crash-test, - Allіanz Ins. Co. underwriter Igor Zaporozhets reported in his speech. – In Ukraine, the problem of road traffic accidents is especially topical, this is why we joined the initiative “I am for road culture”. I am sure that if our motorists and pedestrians follow traffic laws and respect other motorists and pedestrians, it shall significantly reduce the number of road traffic accidents in Ukraine”.

The round-table meeting was also attended by representatives of different spheres: business sphere, authorities, press, automobile sphere, and show-business. All information resources were engaged in the framework of the project: radio, television, printed press, and Internet.

The round table became of the stages of the program “I am for road culture” launched on May 15, 2008 and provides for massive information campaign on propaganda of cultured behavior on the road to Ukrainian drivers.
