OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 June 2008 was announced, that TVEL’s Vice-presidents Piotr Lavrenuk, Vasily Konstantinov and Konstantin Sokolov received high state awards of the Republic of Hungary for successful accident liquidation at Unit 2 of Paks NPP. The awards were handed over to TVEL’s leaders by a representative of Hungarian Government on the 7th of May 2008 in Hungarian Parliament.

More than 5,5 tons of damaged fuel was recovered during the implementation of unique project carried out by Russian specialists. The second power unit of Paks NPP that had been stopped in October 2006 was commenced again. The successful completion of works ion restoration of power unit of Hungarian NPP confirmed the high level of Russian nuclear technologies, professionalism of employees of TVEL Corporation, which was not left without attention of the Government of the Republic of Hungary.
