OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2008. A group of specialists of Temelin NPP (the Czech Republic) visited Volgodonsk NPP on June 2–7 in the framework of the cooperation agreement between the plants.

For many years already Volgodonsk and Temelin NPPs have been successfully cooperating in different spheres. Particularly, they have carried out joint projects to reduce pipeline vibration. This year Volgodonsk NPP has significantly reduced the vibration of its main steam pipelines, which is supposed to enhance their efficiency and safety.

The colleagues compared the results of their work in the sphere and outlined their further actions to solve this problem. The deputy chief engineer for operation of Volgodonsk NPP Aleksey Zhukov said that the experience of one plant plus the experience of the other makes twice as much experience.

The other subject is the enhancement of the efficiency of purging of steam generator. Particularly, the Czech partners are facing the problem of sedimentation of sludge in the pockets of their steam generators. Our specialists have advised them on how to solve this problem.  

The Czech guests visited the equipment testing, reactor and turbine departments. The parties pointed out that the exchange of experience in the framework of their partnership benefited both plants.
