OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2008. Passenger traffic at Ukraine's domestic airlines grew by 40 percent in Q1 2008 against the relevant period 2007, Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Oleksandr Davydov reported.

According to him, the traffic volume will double in the domestic market from the next year. "The volume development is very attractive for foreign low-budget companies. Thus, we expect that after entry of the companies in the Ukrainian market, the traffic volume will double as minimum," he said.

Davydov noted that the passenger traffic at domestic airlines increased by 30 percent a year on average since 2003.
