BMZ’ Pipe-Rolling Facility to Reach Designed Capacity in December
OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2008. The seamless hot-rolled pipe production facility of Belarusian Steel Works will reach its designed capacity by late 2008, Belarus’ Deputy Industry Minister Ivan Demidovich said at the Belarusian Metallurgical Forum in Gomel on June 18.
According to the approved schedule in December the output is supposed to reach 21,300 tonnes of pipes, pushing the annual output to the designed capacity of 250,000 tonnes per annum.
Ivan Demidovich also remarked, products of the BMZ pipe-rolling facility had been successfully tested and had acquired international quality certificates. At present the pipes are exported to 13 countries across the globe. Starting next month the company will ship the pipes to two more countries.
The official remarked, back when the project to set up the pipe-rolling facility was discussed, possible ways for the facility development were considered. In particular, the possibility of coating basic pipes with polymeric and galvanic surfacing was discussed as well as the possibility of fitting the pipes with special accessories for the oil extraction industry and so on. These are efforts for the future and they will continue for the next few years. Ivan Demidovich said, at present it can be stated that the pipe-rolling facility of Belarusian Steel Works is one of the world’s most advanced facilities.
