OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 June 2008 was announced, that  the update of the Moscow transportation system stipulates the construction of the third airport runways both in Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports.

“I know that it is planned to build the third airport runways both in Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo,” Sergey Ivanov, Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, told journalists on June 10.

According to the official, it is planned to develop the metro network, new roads, including toll roads. “We expect the drivers using such roads will spend much less money than in Europe,” Mr Ivanov added.

The Vice Prime Minister reminded that the update of the Moscow transportation system had been suggested by the authorities of Moscow and the Moscow region. It is estimated the project will cost around \\\\$208 billion.

Mr Ivanov noted that money for the project would be allocated mostly from the budgets of two regions and private investors.
