OREANDA-NEWS. On June 06, 2008 The Moldova-Vin Agro-Industrial Agency sold wine and cognacs worth 125 thousand lei and 315 euros at the auction. All the earned financial resources will be transferred to kindergartens of Moldova, reported the press-centre of Moldova-Vin.

Moldova-Vin Director General Iurii Carp said at the opening that such auctions will become traditional and will be conducted regularly on the International Children’s Protection Day.

Special lots, where rare and collection products of Moldovan winemakers and divin producers, were presented", Carp remarked.

The first lot was represented by the collection dry red wine of 1984, produced by the Vinaria Purcari company. The starting price of this lot was 3 thousand lei. The wine was sold from the second attempt, when the Vinaria Purcari representative drew attention to the fact that this wine was offered for sale for the first time and that it was made from the 1980 grape harvest, when grape was of high quality and the lot was bought for the starting price.

The second lot was a 45-year divin (high-quality brandy), produced by the Barza Alba (DVFV) Dragos Voevod enterprise. The starting price was 4 thousand lei. In the course of repeated bidding it was sold for 6 thousand lei.

The third lot included the DK-Intertrade company’s wines – dry, white "Chardonnay" of the 2007 harvest, aged dry red "Cabernet-Sauvignon" of the 2006 harvest, aged dry rose "Merlot Rose 2006". All the wines present the company’s famous brand "Firebird Legend". The starting price of the lot was 2.5 thousand lei. In the course of the bidding it was sold for 3 thousand lei.

The fourth lot from Milestii Mici was represented by collection, aged white wine "Marsala", of the 1978 harvest. The starting price of the lot was 20 thousand lei. It was sold for 24 thousand lei.

The fifth lot was a 45-year divin "Moldova" from Aroma SA. The starting price was 12 thousand lei. In the course of the bidding, where the price was raised step by step by 10% from the starting price, the lot was sold for 30 thousand lei.

The sixth lot was represented by a collection fortified dessert wine "Auriu" of the 1978 harvest of the Cojusna winery. The starting price was 12.5 thousand lei. However, It was not sold after two attempts. However, the company’s representative said that this sum will all the same transferred to one of children’s homes.

The seventh lot was presented by three lots, which included a dry red "Golden Lion" of the 2002 harvest, collection dry white "Chardonnay 1999, dry red "Sarah 2005", sparkling aged collection white brut "Spumant Clasic Colectie Lion Gri 2001" - all prodyced by the Lion-Gri winery. The starting price of the lot was 2.5 thousand lei. The first lot was sold for 2.75 thousand lei, the second one – for 165 euros, the third one for 150 euros.

The eighth lot included the Acorex Wine Holding’s wines – aged semi-dry " Amaro de la Valea Perjei 2003", aged dry white "Chardonnay Corten 2005", sparkling aged white brut "Cuvee Alexandr 2004", aged dry white "Pinot Grigio 2005", and aged dry red "Radacini 2005". The starting price was 3,5 thousand lei, the lot was bought for 3,85 thousand lei.

The ninth lot was represented by the Cricova company’s wine – a high-quality dessert TOKAY Aszu Eszencia of the 1940 harvest. The starting price was 50 thousand lei. In the course of auction Cricova Director Valentin Bodiul said, if the lot is not bought, the company will transfer this sum to a children’s home and the wine will stay in its rich collection.

However, one of the participants in the auction said that the wine will be included in his collection and offered the starting price 50 thousand lei. There were no other proposals and the wine was sold for this price.

The last tenth lot included two bottles of the National College of Viticulture and Winemaking from Stauceni – collection dessert wine "Gratiesti of the 1990 harvest and dessert red "Nectar of the 1988 harvest. The starting price of the lot was 500 lei. In the course of a hot bidding the lot was sold for 3 thousand lei.
