OREANDA-NEWS. On June 05, 2008  the “Nameja balva” award ceremony of the best Latvian capital companies in Lithuania was held in Vilnius, and Parex Bankas was acknowledged and awarded for the most rapid development of the company in Lithuania in 2007, reported the press-centre of Parex Bankas.

Parex Bankas was acknowledged as the best Latvian company in Lithuania in the competition held by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce last year.

During the event, organised by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania for the second time, the best Latvian companies which considerably contributed to investing, developing foreign trade and developing their activities in Lithuania received awards.

The years 2006 and 2007 were the most intensive and successful in the history of Parex Bankas in Lithuania. The structure of the bank was changed, new business projects commenced, the network of bank units expanded, new products were launched on the market, and the authorised capital of the bank increased to LTL 180 million at the end of 2007.

“Since 2006, Parex Bankas has been leader of the financing programme of modernisation of multi-dwelling buildings in Lithuania. In 2007, the bank was recognised as the bank which made the greatest progress in the field of loan guarantees – it granted as much as 46 guarantees and took the fifth place according to the number of extended credits with INVEGA guarantee, and the fourth place according to agricultural loans with the guarantee of the Rural Credit Guarantee Fund among all commercial banks operating in Lithuania. Parex Bankas is also among the top three banks in Lithuania in the field of e-banking services,” Alma Vaitkunskiene, Chairwoman of the Board of Parex Bankas, enumerated bank achievements.
