OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2008. The head of the new Business Development unit of Swedbank will be Giedrius Dusevicius. Antanas Danys will take over his position as the head of Hansabankas in Lithuania. Both will start their new positions fully from June 25th, reported the press-centre of Hansabankas.

Giedrius Dusevicius has worked in the bank since 1996, as the head of Lithuanian operations since 2004. At his new position he’ll continue to be the member of Baltic banking management board as well as the member of Swedbank group executive management (GEM).

"I was very pleased to see Giedrius’ interest towards the new challenging job. It is a great example of how a strong manager chooses to develop himself from national to international level. With his past track record and forward-looking thinking Giedrius is truly good match for the position," says Erkki Raasuke, Head of Baltic Banking.

"Baltic financial and particularly banking markets have been developing very fast during last several years, but clients’ needs and expectations have increased even more. Several years ago we started to move from product sales to financial servicing clients and now we are convinced that this is not only sustainable approach in the future but also very beneficial to clients and organization. Taking a look forward I am sure that current successful business and management model of our Baltic organization has to change and this will be a natural evolution. This ability to change always was a strong side of Hansabank in the Baltics and best proof for that is our position and results in Baltic banking market," Giedrius Dusevicius points.

Antanas Danys, the current head of retail banking of Hansabankas and member of Hansabank Group Board will take over the job as the head of Lithuanian banking operations. Antanas has been with the bank since 1998, working at his present position since 2005.

"In addition to successfully running the retail business in Lithuanian market, Antanas has also headed Baltic retail committee for the past more than two years. It is an expected step that he'll take over the position as the new head of Hansabankas," commented Erkki Raasuke.

"The coming years will be very interesting for Lithuanian banking. Moreover, together with the implementation of the rebranding in Lithuania, "Swedbank" has a promise of a service leadership. So I think that this new task – to lead the bank in Lithuania – will be a big challenge for me", says Antanas Danys.
