Uzbekistan Airways Hosted Representatives of JATA
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 06, 2008 Uzbekistan Airways has hosted representatives of Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA). The main purpose of visit is to open Uzbekistan for more number of tourists from Japan, reported the press-centre of Uzbekistan Airways.
The representatives from JATA have seen the culture and historical heritage of the country with their own eyes. On the territory of Uzbekistan are situated more than 4000 historical monuments and the majority of them are entered to the world heritage of UNESCO. The country has developed its entertainment and hotel infrastructure.
The most attractive for the Japanese tourists are the blue domes of Samarkand which even have a special name in Japan – “Samarkand Blue”. The famous madrasahs of Bukhara and a city-monument under the open sky - Khiva respect a great interest of Japanese. In Japan, a tourist trip to Uzbekistan is considered to be an educational one which satisfies mental and cognitive needs.
In opinion of the participants of the meeting a significant role in the development of tourism between two countries plays an air route between Uzbekistan and Japan which was opened in April 2001 by Uzbekistan Airways. Today, the national airline makes maximum efforts to increase the interest of foreign tourists to our country.
