Turkmenistan’s Oil and Gas Industry Discussed Prospects
OREANDA-NEWS. June 9, 2008. The Prospecting and Exploration of Oil Fields, Oil Production and Processing and Petrochemistry International Exhibition and Conference brought together 70 large companies from 20 countries worldwide, specialists of the leading sectors of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry, students of the higher educational establishments in Ashgabat.
Within two days the participants discussed a broad range of the issues related to the key trends of development of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector and the prospects of mutually advantageous partnership in exploration work and drilling activity, applying advanced technologies and scientific and technological advances in geological, geophysical and seismic research, intensification of fuel production, development of deep-laying hydrocarbon beds, modernization of oil producing and refining enterprises.
Those speaking noted that Turkmenistan’s abundant hydrocarbon resources, favourable investment climate, large-scale programme aimed at dynamic development of the fuel and energy sector, high consumer demand for oil products and energy resources – all that made the Turkmen market especially attractive for foreign investors and businessmen.
Over 40 reports illustrated with the video films and slides were presented at the conference. The high-ranking officials of the energy departments of the neighbouring countries – Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan N. Aliev, Deputy Minister of Petroleum, Director General of the National Gas Company of Iran S. Kesaizade shared experience in managing oil and gas industry. The representatives of the well-known companies including Schlumberger, Total, Barren Energy, Integra, Soyuzneftegas and many others highly appreciated long-term co-operation with Turkmenistan.
