OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2008. An eco-tourism centre Stankovo will be built in the Dzerzhink district of the Minsk region. The related Decree was signed by the President of the Republic of Belarus, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.

The project has been commissioned and investment resources have been provided by the OJSC Dzershinsky Agricultural Company. Br 1,5 billion will be provided for this purpose under the 2008-2010 National Tourism Development Programme.

In the centre there will be four grounds where visitors will be provided various active recreation opportunities and related services. There will be a museum of local history and culture there featuring reconstructed WW II partisans’ dugouts, exposition of weapons of the Great Patriotic War, ethnographic museum of culture and every-day life of Belarusians in the 17th-20th centuries.

There will also be zoological gardens, horse-ride path, footpath and bicycle path there, a pond for recreation and fishing, mini farm house where domestic and exotic birds and animals will be displayed, recreation houses with the related infrastructure, public catering facilities offering Belarusian cuisine.

The construction will be carried out in phases.

The project of the eco-tourism centre Stankovo will boost eco-tourism in the Dzerzhink district and Minsk Region.
