OREANDA-NEWS. On June 03, 2008 AVISMA staff has solemnly celebrated 100 years since the birthday of Klavdij Ivanovich Tsirentchikov, the first Director and the founder of the Titanium-and-Magnesium Works, reported the press-centre of AVISMA.

This day the veterans of the Works held a round-table discussion to recall the years of establishment and development of the Works and to say words of respect and gratefulness to the person that was the first in the country to follow the unknown way of mastering titanium production.

In Berezniki the name of Klavdij Tsirentchikov has become not only the designation of one of its central streets but also a symbol of devotion to the people of the town. And, in truth, this day became a real town holiday that was marked by unveiling of the monument to Klavdij Tsirentchikov at the square in front of the central AVISMA entrance.

At the suggestion of the veterans of the works this square will bear in near future his name. It should be noted that a splendid book devoted to the life and the achievements of Klavdij Ivanovich Tsirentchikov was issued. AVISMA Press Information Center prepared a film with unique shots from the life of this man.

The celebration was concluded by a friendly football match between the works senior management team and the team of Russian football veterans that was led to the field by legendary Yurij Gavrilov. Though the match ended by the victory of “AVISMA people”, as it is usually is, the victory was to friendship.
