Trial trading at St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange to be held in late August 2008, Aleksandr Potapushin, first vice-President of the Exchange told journalists at the XII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Potapushin also forecasted the turnover to make several trillion of rubles at the Exchange.

St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange was established in April 2008. The incorporators of CJSC St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange include the largest Russian companies like Transneft, Rosneft, Transnefteproduct, Gazprom Neft, Zarubezhneft, Surgutneftegaz and large trading and transport companies. Sergei Maslov, head of Transnefteproduct is a President of St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange. First vice-President of Gazprombank Vladimir Tatsij is a Chairman of the Exchange BOD.
