OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2008. PJSC "EMAlliance" and one of the biggest Chinese manufacturers of power equipment Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group concluded negotiations on co-operation.

The parties agreed upon joint participation in tenders for equipment supply for electric power stations in the territory of Russia, CIS, China and elsewhere. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed and a working group was formed to work out technical, legal and financial issues.

In the nearest future "EMAlliance" and Shanghai Electric are planning to participate in a number of tenders of power equipment supply. With this in mind, the companies intend to sign cooperation agreements, including those regarding the creation of consortia with reference to particular projects.

The Russian party will perform design, manufacturing and shipment of the "boiler island" and will also render equipment installation and maintenance services. The Chinese partners in their turn will provide the complex supply of the turbo-generator part of the "power island" and other equipment.

Based on the results of the first joint project realization "EMAlliance" and Shanghai Electric will consider the possibility of a long-term strategic partnership, as is stated in the Memorandum of Understanding.

"The markets of Russia and China are rated among the most promising ones for the manufacturers of the power-plant engineering equipment. We see various possibilities for co-operation with Chinese manufacturers which should be based on the mutual interests of the parties and the development of the industrial potential of our countries. We intend to exchange experience and technology for our mutual benefit", - emphasized the President of PJSC "EMAlliance" Timur Avdeyenko.
