Role of AZN Cash in Azerbaijan’s Economy Grows to 63%
OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2008. The AZN money supply grew in April 2008 by AZN 134.9 million (3%) to AZN 4,563.1 million. The index increased by AZN 26.6 million (3.7%) against the early 2008 index and by 94.8% in the last 12 months. The non-bank cash grew in April by AZN 133 million (4.9%) to AZN 2,867.5 million and the non-cash AZN grew by AZN 1.9 million (0.1%) to AZN 1,695.6 million. The non-cash AZN role in the AZN circulation went on decreasing, and made up 37.2%. In comparison with April 2007, the overall cash grew by 101.1%, while the non-cash money grew by 85.1%. The broad money supply index grew by AZN 208.6 million (3.3%) to AZN 6,549.9 million.
The banking system's hard currency supply grew in April by AZN 73.8 million (3.9%) to the equivalent of AZN 1,986.8 million. The role of AZN resources in the entire money supply was 69.7% against the 66% of April 2007. The hard currency supply grew by 64.5% in the last 12 months. The common money basis decreased in April by AZN 4.6 million (0.1%), and made up AZN 3,463.4 million. The AZN basis rose by AZN 44.8 million (1.4%) to AZN 3,291.2 million. These indexes grew by 0.7% and 1% respectively over the last 12 months.
