OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 May 2008 was announced, that General director of Southern Telecommunications Company Alexander Andreev met with the Governor of the Volgograd region Nikolay Maksyuta.

During the meeting Alexander Andreev told about the Company’s priority investment plans of telecommunications development in the territory of the Volgograd region as one of the most dynamically developing regions.

"The main purpose of authorities and employers is to do everything in their power to improve the quality of life of inhabitants of the region, - the Governor Nikolay Maksyuta noted. – Southern Telecommunications Company provides hi-tech services, high-speed Internet access and other services, which at present constitute an integral part of our life, both to large companies and organizations and to the population of the Volgograd region".

The negotiations resulted in signing the Agreement on mutual cooperation between the Government of the Volgograd region and "Southern Telecommunications Company" PJSC. The subject of the Agreement is to coordinate efforts on development of telecommunications infrastructure and integration of the most remote districts of the Volgograd region into uniform info-communication area of the Russian Federation.
