OREANDA-NEWS. On May 26, 2008 within the visit of the Minister of Foreign Trade of United Arab Emirates Mrs. Sheykha Lubna bint Khalid Al-Qasimi Azerbaijan-UAE business forum was held in Baku.

The event was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan.

Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Mr. Heydar Babayev opened the meeting by the speech which contained information of the economy of Azerbaijan and cooperation with UAE. Minister of Foreign Trade of UAE Mrs. Sheykha Lubna bint Khalid Al-Qasimi made a speech about economy of UAE. Head Secretary of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of UAE Mr. Abdullah Sultan Abdulla and President of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation Mr. Emil Majidov presented information of investment opportunities in UAE and Azerbaijan, respectively.

After the official part of the event bilateral meetings between businessmen of both countries took place.
UAE delegation included 20 officials and 10 companies which represent energy, construction, industry, IT and other sectors of economy. Around 60 Azerbaijani businessmen participated the event.
