OREANDA-NEWS. The Gomel Oblast Council of Deputies and the Murmansk Oblast Duma signed an agreement on cooperation on May 28. The document was inked during an official visit of a delegation of the Murmansk deputies to the Gomel oblast.

The agreement envisages development of the interregional relations, business contacts in the trade and economic, investment areas, cooperation in the social sector. The sides agreed upon exchanging delegations to intensify contacts and consider a plan of joint events. The Gomel and Murmansk oblasts are going to study the experience of the most successfully developing spheres.

Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Council of Deputies Valery Selitsky told reporters that the two regions “have a common ground” that is to promote successful development, first of all, in trade and economic contacts. In particular, the Gomel oblast is interested in the imports of seafood from the Northern region of Russia. The authorities of the Murmansk oblast intends to support the Gomel oblast museum of military fame in setting up a naval exposition.
