OJSC North-West Telecom Took Part in the IT Career Vacancy Fair
OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2008. OJSC North-West Telecom took part in the IT Career specialized vacancy fair in the A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications, May 23-24. The event was attended by many job seekers, mostly third- and fourth-year students and young professionals specializing in information technologies and telecommunications. It was for the third time that OJSC NWT opened its doors to students and young professionals, giving them a chance to start a career at the Company.
This year, OJSC NWT was represented by the General Directorate, Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg branches of the Company. The exhibition visitors were offered 11 vacancies at the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg branches of the Company.
At the Company’s stand, Personnel Department’s staff members provided professional orientation to the visitors and offered all potential candidates to complete the applicant’s questionnaire. Each applicant received a copy of the exhibition catalogue with information on our company. As the result of the two-day fair, OJSC NWT collected about 40 CV questionnaires from young professionals specializing in information technologies, optical fiber lines and sales of telecommunications services. 130 candidates received information on the advantages of career at the Company, vacancies and related professional and personality requirements.
As Marina Yevgenyevna Sukhikh, Director of NWT’s Corporate Communications Department, pointed out in her address, “North-West Telecom is a leading, rapidly developing communications operator, the largest and preferred employer in the North-West Federal District. The doors of the Company are always open to professionals of various specializations and levels, including active and motivated university students. At NWT, you will be able to acquire not only interesting experience and a promising profession, but new colleagues and friends s well”.
The fair was organized traditionally by the St. Petersburg Prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruyevich State University of Telecommunications with the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Information Technologies and Telecommunications. The event included presentations and seminars for visitors by leading communications and recruiting companies: “Job search for young professionals”, “Career planning” etc.
