OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2008. In April 2008, the share of Russian rouble in circulation increased up to 20,32% in comparison with 3,18% at the same period of the last year.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, this trend strengthened in February 2008, when share of the Russian rouble in circulation has reached 12,06%, as compared to 4,57% in January 2008. In March 2008, this indicator slightly reduced up to 11,57%, and in April almost doubled - up to 20,32%.

For example, in 2007, the average share of the Russian rouble in circulation at the Stock Exchange market amounted to 2,9%. At the same time, decline in transactions with euros and dollars was registered.

Thus, the share of transactions with U.S. dollar decreased from 69,93% in April 2007 up to 55,83% in April 2008, and with euros - from 25,78% up to 23,27%.

In 2007, the volume of transactions at the currency market of Moldova amounted to 5,7 billion U.S. dollars, and in April 2008 - 837 million U.S. dollars, respectively.
