OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2008. Almost 400 people – the strongest sportsmen of the nuclear power plants of Russia – will take part in the events.

The Spartakiad will be opened in Kurchatov on May 28 at 05:00 PM. The program of the opening ceremony includes honoring of the winners of the European Foil Championships (Monza 2008) Inna Deriglazova and Dmitry Zherebchenko.

The program of the Spartakiad consists of ten events: field and track athletics, mini-football, volleyball, beach volleyball, tennis, ping pong, swimming, weight-lifting, street-ball, tug-of-war.

The Spartakiad will be conducted at “Energetik,” a complex of unique sports facilities: 5,000-seat football stadium, field and track athletic arena, futsal and basketball fields, three tennis courts, chess club, four gyms, weight room, swimming pool.

Almost 4,000 people – employees of Kursk NPP and residents of Kurchatov and nearby villages – undergo training and rehabilitation procedures at the complex each year.
