OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2008 was announced, that the double exhibition of Euroexpofurniture and Interzum Moscow completed their work.

1,100 exhibitors presented 1,500 trade marks of furniture, accessories, components, consumables and equipment at the exhibition area of about 90,000 sq. m. For 5 exhibition days pavilion 2 and 3 of the Crocus Expo exhibition centre turned into a true “furniture kingdom” approved by the world furniture community. The distinguished guest of the show, Mr Calisto Valenti, the President of the World Furniture Confederation, was able to estimate the progress of the Russian furniture industry and its high potential.

“MVK took pains to make the exhibition efficient for both the participants and guests and we are glad to satisfy their expectations”, stated in his introductory speech Andrei Lapshin, the President of MVK International Exhibition Company.

“We would like to thank all the exhibitors and look forward to seeing them at the shows next year, which promise to be even larger”, said Aleksey Shaburov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MVK International Exhibition Company. According to Vlada Antonova, the Exhibition Director, “numerous applications for exhibition participation 2009 let us rely on a prominent forum and new fascinating expositions”.

The floor was also given to Svetlana Krzhizhanovskaya, the Vice-President of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia. Yuriy Sidorov, the Head of the Furniture Industrial Art and Technical Committee, and Galina Novak, Director General of the “Furniture. Design. Russia” Non-Profit Partnership awarded the winners of the Russian Furniture review competition and eliminatory competition in candidacy of the Russian Cabriole 2008 industrial design award. Evgeniy Vilenkin, the Kreata jury chairman, awarded the best young designers.  The Deputy Director General of the Soyuzexpertiza autonomous non-profit partnership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the contest. The fest is over and all the representatives of the furniture business are looking forward to the next year. The Euroexpofurniture and Interkomplekt/Interzum Moscow 2009 will be held on May 12-16 in Moscow.
