Kozak Was Instructed to Speed Up the Reconstruction of the ESPO
OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2008 was announced, that Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin instructed the Regional Development Minister Dmitry Kozak to speed up resolution of the issues related to the reconstruction of the railroad infrastructure of the “Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean” oil pipeline first phase.
“Consider this question as the entire program is being held due to this”, - Mr. Putin addressed to Mr. Kozak during the working meeting attended as well by Nikolai Tokarev, President for “Transneft”.
“We are able to solve this problem; it will be coordinated this very day”, - Minister promised.
ESPO-1 includes construction of Taishet (Irkutsk region) – Skovorodino (Amur region) sector and the oil terminal in Kozmino (Pacific Ocean coast of the Primorsk region). Railroad component of the project will be used until the second phase is put into operation from Skovorodino to the Pacific Ocean coast.
