ESPO-2 Environmental Impact Assessment in Focus
OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2008 was announced, that ESPO-2 project implementation issues were discussed at the meeting of Interagency Commission headed by Aleksander Nesterenko, deputy Head of Amur region Government, hold last week in Blagoveshchensk. Under results of discussions the resolution to adopt proposals to requirements specification on ESPO-2 Environmental Impact Assessment was agreed.
Key proposal of ecologists is observing of environmental regulation at construction of industrial facilities and reinforcement of measures to prevent potential damage to natural environment.
One should remind that 36 community liaison offices were opened on May 16, 2008 on the territory of four Far Eastern constituent entities of the RF the ESPO-2 route would be passing through. Over two months and a half they will receive all persons interested in requirements specification, preliminary material of ESPO EIA and take written suggestions of citizens to the project.
