OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2008. From January 1 till May 23, Commercial Port of Vladivostok increased its throughput by 67%, year-on-year, to 2.503.8 million tonnes, the company reports. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo amounted to 1.443.7 million tonnes (up 2.2 times), import - 641,700 tonnes (+23%), coastal trade cargo – 418,400 tonnes (+30%). The company attributes the increase mainly to the growth of metal export due to higher demand for Russian metal goods in South-East Asia. Commercial Port of Vladivostok increased transshipment of metal and hard components over 3 times during last months.
