OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 May 2008 was announced, that Sevmash Director General Nikolay Kalistratov took part in RF Government meeting.

Meeting was held on the 13th of May in Saint Petersburg under the leadership of RF Government chairman Vladimir Putin. Native shipbuilding development was discussed in the presence of heads of main ministries and heads of the greatest Russian shipyards.

National “United Shipbuilding Corporation” is meant to overcome lagging behind. Sevmash will be integrated in it. It is designed for offshore oil and gas fields’ development: demand in tankers, gas carriers, supply vessels, offshore platforms comes above 500 units. But to perform this order shipbuilding needs state support.

As was mentioned by Nikolay Kalistratov Sevmash development was also considered during meeting. Prime Minister asked corresponding departments to take measures on increasing enterprise work efficiency.

This problem is relevant: during the last twenty years state did not invest in production development and today it puts tasks on mastering prospective projects in the field of military shipbuilding and civil shipbuilding. Plan of technical and economical development prepared at Sevmash provides increase of work efficiency, updating capacities, attracting personnel, increase of salary, building accommodations for non-resident workers.
