Ukraine attaches special significance to deepening relations with Azerbaijan, whereas Ukraine companies show great interest in Azerbaijani oil, Ukrainian Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister Burzu Aliyev, who is heading the Ukrainian delegation on a visit to Baku, said, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

During a meeting with President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation learned about energy projects, in which SOCAR is participating. Abdullayev said that the world is showing great interest in Azerbaijan, because the country had produced an image of a reliable partner in the energy sector and is currently playing a significant role in ensuring energy security in the region.

Aliyev invited Abdullayev to participate in an energy summit in Kyiv on May 22-23.

Abdyllayev, in turn, said that the Azerbaijani side is thoroughly preparing for this summit in the Ukrainian capital. He said he was satisfied with the dynamic work on the Odesa-Brody-Plock-Gdansk oil pipeline. A feasibility study on finishing the construction of the Odesa-Brody-Plock-Gdansk oil pipeline and using it in a direct regime will be presented during the upcoming summit in Kyiv.

Speaking about the prospects for cooperation with Ukrainian companies, Abdullayev said that Ukraine had thoroughly studied the question of SOCAR's presence on the energy market. He also noted that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic had started performing a market analysis of the Ukrainian market.
