OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2008. The exhibition set off today, May 14, and will last till May 17.

Vietnam is just beginning to develop its nuclear power industry and is showing growing interest in the international experience of NPP construction and in the latest developments in the field of nuclear technologies. 

The key topic of the exhibition is the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Vietnam. Among the other topics are nuclear projects and technologies, the safe operation of nuclear power plants, the effective treatment of radioactive waste, the production and delivery of nuclear equipment.

The delegation of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation is led by the director of the Scientific Policy Department Valery Rachkov and is represented by Atomstroyexport CJSC.

Today, Atomstroyexport is the only engineering company in the world that is simultaneously building nuclear power plants in four countries: India, Iran, Bulgaria and China (in China the company is carrying out the guarantee testing of the 1st and 2nd units of Tianwan NPP).

The business program of the exhibition includes a seminar on international cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
