OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 May 2008 Uralsvyazinform, the leading carrier of fixed-line and mobile services in the Urals region, Russia reported the unconsolidated financial and operational results for the 1st quarter of 2008 prepared under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS).

Revenues increased by 16.6% on 1Q 2007 and totaled US\\$ 408.3 mln. The revenue growth is mainly due to revenue gains in:

Mobile services (+20.7%);

New services (up 61.9%).

EBITDA[1] increased by 7.7% on 1Q 2007. EBITDA margin totaled 33.4%. Operating margin – 22.0%.

Net profit decreased by 27.6% and amounted to US\\$ 33.1 mln. Net margin totaled 8.1%.

Subscriber base totaled 8.9 mln., including 5.2 mln. subscribers in GSM.
