OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2008. Alexey Zavgorodnev has been elected by Gazprom as the Director General of Kavkaztransgaz.

Alexey Zavgorodnev was born in 1971 in the city of Grozny, the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. In 1993 he graduated from the Grozny Petroleum Institute majoring in oil and gas fields development. Alexey Zavgorodnev holds a PhD degree in geology and mineral resources.

Over 1998 to 2006 A. Zavgorodnev worked as the Chief Engineer of the Stavropol Gas Production Directorate of Kavkaztransgaz. In 2006 he was appointed the Director of the Stavropol Line Production Directorate of Main Pipelines of Kavkaztransgaz. Since 2007 Alexey Zavgorodnev has been Acting Director General, Chief Engineer – First Deputy Director General of Kavkaztransgaz.

Vasily Zinoviev has been relieved of the post of Director General of Kavkaztransgaz due to his election to the post of a Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
