OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2008. Dmitry Veremyev, a specialist of Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant named after Kuzmin (NMP, ESTAR Group) won the professional award “Worker of the Year” in the category “lathe operator”. Workers of 7 enterprises and 2 professional colleges of the Lenin district of Novosibirsk participated in the professional competition that took place at the Sibselmash-Spetstekhnika Plant.

 “The competition consisted of a theoretical and practical part”, says Dmitry. “The theoretical part implied answering 18 test questions in 40 minutes and the practical one was to manufacture a roll. I, like the rest of the participants, I suppose, had been preparing thoroughly for the competition: I read specialized literature and practiced at the lathe. That helped: I made it despite quite a sophisticated level of theory and practice and managed to bring victory to my enterprise. I’m proud of the results and of the fact that I proved that highly-qualified professionals capable of solving any task work at our plant “.

As a reward for the victory, Dmitry Pavlovich got an excelent present – a video camera. Now he’s to represent the Lenin district in the city competition of professional skills “Worker of the Year” in the category “lathe operator” that is to take place this autumn.
