OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2008. The Ukrainian agricultural economies are completing the spring complex of field works. As of May 6, the early crops and leguminous plants are sown on the area of 5,982 thousand hectares (80 percent of the forecasted areas), the Agricultural Policy press service informed.

In particular, the spring wheat was sown on the area of 343 thousand hectares (95 percent), barley - 3,443 thousand hectares (98 percent), oats - 419 thousand hectares (105 percent) and pea - 225 thousand hectares (88 percent).

Fertilizers were added to winter cultures on the area of 7,487 thousand hectares, which makes up 94 percent of the forecast.
